HUTCHISON READY TO TACKLE MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK IN UTA
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (April 25, 2012) – 17 year-old NASCAR K&N Pro
Series, West rookie Dylan Hutchison will make his road course debut
on Saturday evening, driving the #5 Johnnie Walker Performance / Bay
Bio Diesel Chevrolet for Jack Sellers Racing at Miller Motorsports
Park in Tooele, UT. The series will compete in the Utah Grand Prix
with a 50 lap race scheduled around the 2.2 mile east course at the
expansive Miller Motorsports Park.
Hutchison is fresh off of a 12th place finish at Havasu 95 Speedway
where he ran in the top-ten during the race around the bullring. For
the 2011 All American Speedway NASCAR Late Model Rookie of the Year,
racing the short-tracks has eased the transition to the bigger K&N
Saturday's Miller Grand Prix will not only be Hutchison's first road
course start but also be one of the first races for the Del Campo
High School student that includes live pit stops. Combine pit stops
with working on a balanced setup, the crew led by John Krebs will be
very busy on Saturday.
"I have never been on a road course before, so constant shifting and
left and right turns will be something I really have to get used
to," Hutchison said. "My mindset is what we had going into Havasu;
if we can end up on the lead lap with a clean car I will be happy."
Making the weekend even more challenging is that practice,
qualifying, and the race will all be condensed into Saturday only,
giving Hutchison little time to debrief between sessions.
The race comes in the middle of a busy stretch for the NASCAR K&N
Pro Series, West which sees the series race at Stockton 99 Speedway
in California on May 5, Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa on May 19, and
Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota on May 26.
