RETURNS TO HOME TRACK IN ROSEVILLE FOR K&N PRO SERIES
CALIFORNIA – When the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West returns to All
American Speedway in Roseville on Saturday night, it will serve as a
homecoming for Sacramento's 17 year-old series rookie Dylan
Hutchison. Hutchison earned his stripes on the one-third mile oval
racing in Mini Cups, Baby Grands, and NASCAR Late Models, earning
the 2011 NASCAR Late Model Rookie of the Year award at the venue.
Driving the #5 Bay Bio Diesel / Johnnie Walker Performance Chevrolet
for Jack Sellers Racing, with veteran John Krebs on the wrenches,
Hutchison also is returning to the track and event where he made his
series debut last year. Hutchison turned heads with a ninth place
qualifying effort last October in the Toyota / NAPA Auto Parts 150.
"Our whole team has high expectations for this race not only because
it is our home track but also because this will be my first time
returning to a track where I have previous K&N experience,"
Hutchison said. "We made the right improvements during our test
session and we should be really competitive this weekend."
Saturday's events will see Hutchison flying a fresh paint scheme and
also carrying additional support from racing apparel company Nitro
Fish. Race fans can meet Hutchison at the Nitro Fish booth and check
out their new stock car apparel line. Hutchison will also have
special guest Steve Price, founding drummer of famed touring rock
act Pablo Cruise, in the pits to show support for the young racer.
The 2012 NASCAR K&N West campaign has been an up-and-down season but
has been a great learning experience for the young driver. A stretch
of 11th, ninth, and eighth place finishes through May and June has
been the season highlight thus far. The ninth place finish at
Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota was even more impressive
as it was Hutchison's second career road course start.
Hutchison's most competitive run of the 2012 season was his eighth
place run at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in June, where
he ran near the top-five for most of the race. Hutchison is hopeful
that short track success will translate to Roseville.
"We're really hoping for a top-five finish especially with how close
we were at Vegas," Hutchison said. "We hope a good finish at
Roseville can give us good momentum going into next season as well!"
Following the 150 lap race at Roseville, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series,
West will hit the road for the series finale on the one-mile Phoenix
International Raceway during the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend there in
