HUTCHISON READY FOR RETURN TO NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES, WEST
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (February 28, 2012) – After completing his 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West rookie season, 18 year-old Dylan Hutchison on his sights set on bigger and better success driving Bay Bio Diesel-sponsored Chevrolets for Jack Sellers Racing in 2013. His campaign will get underway on Saturday from Phoenix International Raceway with the "Talking Stick Resort 60" on the one-mile oval.
Hutchison competed in 11 of the 15 series events last year, highlighted by a stretch run through May and into June where he had finishes of 11th, ninth, and eighth across a pair of short tracks and a road course. His lone Phoenix appearance was last March, in just his second K&N West start, where he started and finished 23rd.
Driving for veteran team owner Jack Sellers, Hutchison would like nothing more than to improve on his 2012 success. 2013 will be Sellers' final season behind the wheel after making nearly 250 career starts in the series. Sellers does plan to continue in an ownership role into the future.
"Our whole team has high hopes this season and now that I've raced Phoenix before we should be able to practice and qualify well, to get a good starting position," Hutchison said. "I want to thank John Krebs and Mike Naake for working together on setting up my car for this race. I'm super excited to start the season and have a lot of confidence in the crew."
Hutchison's team members include team manager John Krebs, crew chief Glenn Hutchison, and crew members Tom Wicks and Charlie Silva. The team will carry sponsorship from Pat O'Keefe at Bay Bio Diesel with additional support from Eibach Springs and Nitro Fish West.
The second round on the 2013 slate will be on May 4 at Stockton 99 Speedway, where Hutchison finished 11th last year, followed by Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota to round out the month of May. Hutchison was ninth in the series' debut at BIR last season.
"We will have spec motors in the cars for most of the tracks we run and our team has worked harder than ever to get the cars the best they can be," Hutchison said. "I can't thank my team and sponsors enough for the support they give me."
Activities at Phoenix get underway on Thursday afternoon with additional practice on Friday. Qualifying will take place Saturday morning and The "Talking Stick Resort 60" is slated to go green at 5:30 p.m. local time.
